Drinking alcohol will be expensive
According to the new rules, if a person is caught driving drunk on alcohol, then he can be fined Rs 10,000 or 6 months in jail. If the same person makes the same mistake again, then the fine can be up to Rs 15,000 and the jail sentence can increase by 2 years.
5000 challan now for making red light jump
If you break the signal, now you have to fill an invoice of Rs 5,000, whereas earlier this fine was only 500 rupees.
Heavy fine for carrying high speed and more goods
If a driver drives a fast train at a prescribed speed, he will have to pay a fine of up to Rs 5,000. At the same time, if a truck or commercial vehicles carry more goods than the fixed limit, then it will be fined more than Rs 20,000.
Driving without driving license
Now if you are caught driving without valid driving license, then a fine of Rs 5,000 will have to be paid. However, if you have a valid DL in the Digilocker or MPARIVAHAN app, it will be accepted.
Penalty for not having a pollution certificate
PUC certificate has been made mandatory to control the smoke emanating from the vehicle. If you do not have this, a fine of Rs 10,000 and 6 months in jail. Apart from this, community service can also be ordered.
Challan on not wearing seat belt
Now not only the driver in the car, but all the passengers need to wear seat belts. Not wearing a seat belt will be fined Rs 1,000, whether you are sitting or behind.
Punishment on three rides on bike
If three people are found sitting on a two -wheeler, a fine of Rs 1,000 will have to be paid.
Riding without helmet bikes will no longer run
Earlier there was a fine of Rs 100 without a helmet, which has now been increased to Rs 1,000. Also, the driver’s driving license can also be suspended for 3 months.
Strict punishment for running a minor vehicle
If a minor is caught driving, his parents or parents may be fined Rs 25,000 and a 3-year jail. In addition, the registration of that vehicle will be canceled for 1 year and that minor will not get a driving license before the age of 25.
Strictness on mobile use
The use of mobile phones while driving is now considered even more strict crime. It can be invoiced up to Rs 5,000, as it increases the chances of road accidents manifold.
