Neeraj Chopra is the first Indian Javiln player to win two Olympic medals. On the basis of his hard work and passion, he has made Javelin famous in India’s house. He won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. After this, his success in the Paris Olympics also continued and won the silver medal. Now Neeraj Chopra has received a great honor by the Indian Army. He has been awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army.
Neeraj Chopra becomes lieutenant colonel
The announcement of honoring Neeraj Chopra has been announced by the Ministry of Defense in the magazine ‘Gazette of India’, Government of India. His rank became effective from 16 April 2025. Earlier, Neeraj had the post of Subedar in the Territorial Army. Now they have got promotion.

The Territorial Army acts as the second line of the main army. Its members are common people, who are associated with other professions. Members of the Territorial Army are trained and they are taken help in their disaster and emergency. The main task of the Territorial Army is to help the army.
NC classic tournament was canceled
Neeraj Chopra will take part in the 71st Olelen Janusz Kusosinski Memorial tournament in Chorjov, Poland on May 23, after the proposed NC classic tournament was postponed next week in Bengaluru. Neeraj was supposed to participate in NC Classic with some other star players around the world and India and also host the tournament on 24 May but was postponed due to military confrontation between India and Pakistan.
Neeraj will participate in the Javelin tournament in Poland
In Poland’s tournament, Neeraj will face two -time world champion and Paris Olympic bronze medalist Granada’s Anderson Peters, Germany’s Julian Weber and Poland’s national record holder Marsin Krukowski, besides the challenge of local players like Cyprian Mergeglod and David Vegoner.
