Mahesh Kothe dies in Mahakumbh
Pune: Former Solapur mayor and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) leader Mahesh Kothe died of a heart attack while bathing in the Mahakumbh at Triveni Sangam in Prayaggaj on Tuesday. His close friend has shared this information. Mahesh Kothe was 60 years old. This tragic incident happened on Tuesday morning at around 7.30 am while taking bath in Mahakumbh when he was taking a dip in the nectar at the Triveni Sangam of Ganga, Yamuna and the legendary Saraswati river.
A person close to him said, “Kothe (on Makar Sankranti) had gone to take bath in Amrit at the Mahakumbh at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. He suffered a heart attack in the river water. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.”
Family: Wife and a son
According to the information, Kotha’s mortal remains will be brought to Solapur for cremation on Wednesday. Kothe had contested the assembly elections from Solapur (North) on November 20 against BJP’s Vijay Deshmukh, but had to face defeat. Kothe is survived by his wife and a son. Let us tell you that it is extremely cold in Prayagraj. Saints from various Akharas took the first Amrit Snan in Mahakumbh on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. On Tuesday, 3.50 crore devotees took a dip in Triveni Sangam.

NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar condoled Kothe’s demise. He wrote on ‘X’, “My old colleague Mahesh Kothe passed away in Prayagraj. Mahesh Kothe had a significant impact on the social and political scenario of Solapur city. In his demise Solapur lost a dynamic and dedicated worker. We all stand with the Kothe family in this hour of grief. heartfelt condolences!”
