Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana: Before the assembly elections in the capital Delhi, registrations for the Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana started today, December 23. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday helped women in Kidwai Nagar area to register for the scheme. They helped the women create the password (OTP) required for registration and then handed over their registration cards. During this time, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was also with him.
Kejriwal had said a day earlier, ‘Women do not need to go anywhere, our volunteers will come to your home and complete the registration process.’ The Delhi government had announced ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Scheme’ in its budget for the financial year 2024-25, a scheme to give Rs 1,000 every month to every woman aged 18 years and above.
However, Kejriwal recently announced that the amount under the scheme will be increased to Rs 2,100 if his party returns to power for the third consecutive time after the assembly elections in February.
How to get benefit
After registration under the scheme, women will be given a card, which will have to be kept safely. Verification will take place after application. If the verification is successful, the women who have registered will be informed through notification. After this they will be able to take advantage of the scheme. This scheme is for all the women of Delhi but those who receive pension from the government, do government jobs, have annual income of more than Rs 3 lakh and pay income tax will not get its benefit.
