Banking service will affect
If Muharram is on July 6 Sunday, there will be no effect on bank customers. If Muharram is on Monday 7 July, the bank branch will be closed in many states. In such a situation, customers will have to complete the work done before or after the bank branch. On this day, there will be no work in bank branches. But the customer, but the matter of relief is that digital services like net banking, mobile banking and UPI will be operational as before. In such a situation, ordinary customers will be able to do the necessary transactions in online way.
Holiday will be in the stock market
Major stock markets like NSE and BSE will not be traded on the day of Muharram. This will directly affect segments like equity, derivatives, currency and interest rate derivatives. However, morning trading on MCX i.e. Multi Commodity Exchange will remain closed, but trading in the commodity market can be on from 5 pm to 11:30 pm. But this will happen only when the moharam will happen on 7 July.
Why is Muharram celebrated?
Muharram is the first month of the Islamic year and is seen as the beginning of the new Islamic year. It is considered one of the four sacred months of the religion of Islam.
