The purpose and benefits of the scheme
The basic objective of PM Surya Ghar Free Power Scheme is to install rooftop solar system up to 3 kW in country homes and provide 300 units of electricity per month by providing subsidy up to 60%. With this, about 1 crore families will be able to save about Rs 15,000 crore annually. The scheme will not only reduce electricity bills, but will also get rid of the problem of power cut and the use of clean, green energy will increase. Under this scheme, the government provides facilities through digital application system at every state and panchayat level for solar panel installation, so that all classes can benefit. Along with this, new employment opportunities are also arising, such as solar panel production, installation and maintenance.
Subsidy and application process
The government gives a subsidy of Rs 30,000 per kW under this scheme, with a subsidy of up to Rs 78,000 for installing panels on a maximum of 3 kW roof. It is very simple to apply, in which applicants can register themselves by visiting the official website PMsuryaghar.gov.in. For this, information about state, power distribution company, consumer number, mobile number and email has to be given. After the application, a solar system is installed from the registered seller after receiving viability approval by discom. On completion of the installation, the net meter is certified and the subsidy is directly transferred to the bank account. This process is completely transparent and online, which does not cause any problem to the beneficiaries
Permanent future of environment and energy
The PM Surya Ghar Yojana is not just a plan to save electricity, but is a big step towards environmental protection and energy freedom. This initiative of the Government of India is strengthening the local economy along with advancing the country on the path of green energy. Under this scheme, energy self -sufficiency has been promoted, which will reduce pollution in future and expand clean energy. This scheme is proving to be a boon, especially for rural and urban poor sections, for which electricity has now become a facility of free consumption, not the burden of expensive bills.
