Why is it necessary to update the mobile number?

Can the mobile number be updated online?
No. Mobile number cannot be updated online in Aadhaar as biometric verification is zeruri for this. For this, you have to go to Aadhaar Seva Kendra. However, you can book online appointments in advance so that you do not have to wait long in the center.
How to book online appointment
Go to UIDAI’s website (https://uidai.gov.in).
Go to the menu above: My Aadhaar> Get Aadhaar> Book An Appointment
Enter your city/location and click on Proceed to Book Appointment.
Fill your existing mobile number and captcha code, then click on Generate OTP.
Put OTP on mobile and Verify OTP.
Fill your information: Choose Aadhaar number, full name, date of birth, type of application, state, city and nearest Aadhaar center.
Now choose the update mobile number option.
Choose a convenient date and time when you can go to the center.
Check information and finalize the appointment by clicking on submit.
What to do in Aadhaar Center?
Visit the selected center on time.
After the biometric verification there, your new number will be updated.
You have to pay a fee of Rs 50.
A receipt will be found on which URN (Update Request Number) will be written. With this you can see the status of update online.
