Delhi Metro Internet Connectivity
Millions of passengers traveling daily are going to get a big gift in Delhi Metro, which is called the lifeline of the capital Delhi and NCR. Passengers will get superfast internet connectivity while traveling in Metro. For this, DMRC i.e. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has taken a big decision. Passengers will get the benefit of this facility in all the corridors of Delhi Metro as well as the Airport Express line. For this, DMRC has partnered with beckhaul digital technology.
700 km optical fiber network
DMRC has decided to lay 700 km long optical fiber network to deliver internet connectivity to all corridors of Delhi Metro. For this, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has signed an agreement with backhall digital technology. The company will work to improve the telecom infrastructure in all the Delhi Metro corridors. Passengers traveling in Metro will get 5G connectivity due to this. DMRC has taken this decision under the Delhi-NCR Smart City Project.
DMRC has announced this partnership with its official X handle. In its statement, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said that this optical fiber cable will be laid on the phase wise. In the first phase, the work of upgrading the pink and mazenta line will be done. This work will be completed in both these corridors in the next 6 months.
Laying optical fiber lines by DMRC will help telecom companies and internet service providers to set up better connectivity and data centers on all routes of Delhi Metro. This infrastructure will work to deliver better digital connectivity to every route of Delhi Metro. Passengers especially on the metro station, tunnel and underground route have to face call drop and poor internet connectivity. They can get rid of these problems by the laying of this optical fiber line.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said that this initiative will work to realize the vision of the Government of India digitally connected. The 5G network has been exposed across the country at a fast pace. Due to the metro fiber network, daily passengers will get reliable internet connectivity in the existing infrastructure. Telecom companies will also get the benefit of this upgrade in establishing their coverage.
