
Dr. Girish Mohan Gupta
Sambalpur: People who consider age to be just a number, and one of them is Dr. Girish Mohan Gupta, who has set an example of inspiration for youths across the country by taking an MBA degree from IIM Sambalpur at the age of 84. Former nuclear scientist and two -time PhD Dr. Gupta recently obtained MBA degree at the convocation of IIM Sambalpur. On this occasion, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Dr. Pramod Kumar Mishra was present as the chief guest and submitted a degree to Dr. Gupta himself.
Dr. Gupta’s career has been in the field of science. He worked for a long time at Bhabha Atomic Research Center and contributed significantly to India’s nuclear program. He has been associated with the design and setup of Asia’s first and world’s second nuclear breeder reactor. Even after retirement, he kept himself connected with studies and research. After two doctors, when he felt something new should be done now, he took admission in the MBA program launched by IIM Sambalpur for Working Professionals. He attended regular classes at the IIM center in Delhi and never allowed himself to feel weak from his age.
How is Dr. Gupta’s routine?
Dr. Gupta told about my life, ‘I work from 10 to 6 every day, play cricket and badminton and am fully fit. I feel myself 62 years old, not 84. If I darken hair, people can also understand 50. He also said that he completed his studies without glasses and can still read the smallest print.
After doing MBA, now his next goal is to do the third PhD in the management. Dr. Gupta believes that there is no limit to knowledge and a person should keep learning throughout his life. Dr. Gupta further said, “This MBA degree will strengthen my previous work and help in future research.”
Dr. Gupta’s story is not just about degrees, but a story of thinking that you should never stop yourself from learning. Whatever you want, every floor can be achieved if there is passion and desire. His achievement is not only an inspiration for the elderly, but also forces the youth of today to think that the real success never stops, she just keeps moving forward.
