GST collection on all-time high

Sources told News18 that GST Collects has reached all-time high. In such a situation, the government is thinking about giving relief to the common man. In June, GST collections rose 6.2 per cent to Rs 1.85 lakh crore in June. The GST collection was Rs 1.73 lakh crore in June last year. However, a decrease in GST collection was recorded on a month -on -month basis. In May this year, GST collection reached Rs 2.01 lakh crore.

GST collection crosses 2 lakh crores in May

In May, the GST collection witnessed a 16.4 per cent jump on a year -on -year basis. It is said that the government can reduce tax by 8-9 percent on essential things. However, a final decision has not been taken yet. Some of the states with BJP government as well as some opposition regime have requested the Center to reduce tax on some important things. Sources say that this may be decided in the next meeting of the GST Council. The GST Council is expected to meet this month.

GST Council will also decide on health policy

The GST Council meeting will be led by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. In this meeting, it can also be decided to give relief in GST on the premium of insurance products. This issue has been pending for a long time. It may be decided to reduce tax, especially on the premium of health insurance. Currently, there is 18 percent GST on the premium of health insurance. If GST decreases on health insurance policy, then the health policy can be cheaper. This will increase people’s interest in it.
