US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has paid tribute to former PM Manmohan Singh. Expressing deep condolences on the demise of the former PM, he described him as a great supporter of India-US relations. Blinken described Manmohan Singh’s work as the foundation of the bilateral achievements of India and America in the last two decades.

Blinken said that the US-India Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement signed under the leadership of the former PM made a big investment in the prospects of relations between the two countries. Manmohan Singh died at the age of 92 at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi late on Thursday night.

Apart from Blinken, former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper also expressed grief over the demise of Manmohan Singh. He said that Manmohan Singh was a person of extraordinary intelligence, honesty and wisdom. Harper said his death deeply saddens me personally.

Many articles have been published in the world media on the death of Manmohan Singh. The American newspaper New York Times has described him as soft-spoken and intellectual. The Washington Post also reacted to the demise of the former PM. In its post, the newspaper has described him as a leader who has brought about major changes. The newspaper also commented on both his tenures.
