Muslim leaders from many countries participated in the program organized by OIC on education of Muslim girls in Pakistan.
Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai participated in a conference on education of Muslim girls in Pakistan on Sunday. According to CNN, during this time he appealed to Muslim leaders to make gender discrimination a crime under international law. Along with this, Malala condemned Taliban for the condition of Afghan women.
Malala said that Muslim leaders should come forward against the policies of the Taliban. They have stopped girls from going to school and university. The Taliban’s repressive laws should be openly challenged and condemned.
Speaking in Islamabad, Malala said-
The future of an entire generation of girls in Afghanistan will be taken away. As Muslim leaders, now is the time for all of you to raise your voice and use your power.
Dozens of ministers and experts from Muslim countries participated in this summit organized by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Muslim World League. This summit was organized in Pakistan.
At the conference, Malala appealed to create international law against gender discrimination.
Taliban does not see women as humans
Malala said that frankly, the Taliban in Afghanistan does not see women as human beings. There is nothing Islamic in his policies. The Taliban punishes those women and girls who dare to break their laws.
The Taliban hides its crimes behind religion, but in reality its policies are completely contrary to our beliefs. They have created a system of gender apartheid in Afghanistan.
Taliban has not responded yet
The Afghan Taliban has not yet responded to Malala’s statement. Although the Taliban had earlier said that they give respect and rights to women according to Afghan culture and Islamic law. The Taliban government claims that Islamic law guarantees the rights of Afghan men and women.
Since the coming of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, many types of restrictions have been continuously imposed on women. These include ban on girls going to school, speaking and showing their faces in public and participating in sports.
Malala was shot in the head
Malala was born in 1997 in Swat Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. In 2009, Malala started writing a diary for BBC under the name of ‘Gul Makai’, hiding her real name. In this he mentioned the evil deeds of Taliban in Swat.
Malala first came into the world’s attention while writing a diary for BBC when Malala’s father Ziauddin made his daughter’s identity public in December 2009. In January 2020, a film based on Malala named Gul Makai was also released.
In 2012, Malala was shot in the head by Pakistani Taliban terrorists. After this incident that happened to her, Malala started blogging for a media organization. For her bravery, the United Nations declared Malala Day on July 12, her 16th birthday.
Malala was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2013. He was awarded the Nobel Prize jointly with Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi in 2014.
