In a tweet shared by him, he said- Our university cancels all kinds of compromises from Turkey and Azerbaijan, who helped our enemy country and it will remain the same. At the same time, the owner of LPU has appealed to other major educational institutions to cancel their agreement with both countries.

Mittal said- In view of India’s national interest, the agreement was broken
Dr. Ashok Mittal said- The university has officially terminated 6 academic partnerships with institutions in Turkey and Azerbaijan citing recent geopolitical events. Because these partnerships were not in the national interest of India.
MP Mittal said- This decision includes the student and staff exchange program, joint research projects, dual degree initiatives and all other forms of educational cooperation with institutions in both countries. The move has recently been taken in response to Türkiye and Azerbaijan’s pro -Pakistan stance during India and Pakistan tension.

Ashok Mittal further said- When our brave armed forces are putting their lives at risk, we cannot remain silent as a university. The Mission of LPU has always been associated with India’s development and integrity and we will never join any organization that weakens India’s sovereignty (freedom).
