Ladki bahin yojana: The government is going to pay the money for the month of February and March tomorrow under the Ladki Bahin scheme. According to Maharashtra’s Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tattakre, the beneficiary women will get full money for two months on March 8, ie on March 8. Prior to International Women’s Day 2025, the Maharashtra government has announced that outstanding installments will be deposited in the bank accounts of 2.52 crore eligible women.

Giving information, the Minister of Women and Child Development of Maharashtra, Aditi Tatkare said that the purpose of this scheme is to empower women financially. An amount of 3,000 (Rs 1,500 + 1,500) will be released as the 8th and 9th installments of February and March. According to the official statement of the government, this amount will be deposited in the accounts of the beneficiaries by 8 March 2025.

The Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme is the initiative of the Government of Maharashtra, which aims to provide economic freedom and social security to women. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 1,500 is given directly to the eligible women of 21 to 65 years through DBT i.e. Direct Benefit Transfer.

How many beneficiaries are women
The popular scheme in Maharashtra has more than 2.43 crore beneficiaries. This puts a burden of about Rs 3,700 crore to the state treasury every month. Ladki sister was considered a major reason for the magnificent victory of the Mahayuti alliance in the state elections last year. The BJP government has now promised to increase the monthly amount to Rs 2,100. However, currently the monthly Rs 1500 is received under the scheme.
Who can apply
The government proposes to provide financial assistance of Rs 18,000 annually to women in the age group of 21 to 65 years. Women, whose family’s annual income is Rs 2,50,000, can avail the scheme.
