Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis
Virat Kohli flopped badly in the Test series against Australia and runs stopped coming from his bat. When Team India needed him the most in the Test series. Then he threw the wicket and returned to the pavilion. Kohli has a status of his own, but he has not been able to perform as per his name. That too when he likes to score runs against Australia. After this, former players like Irfan Pathan and Sunil Gavaskar criticized him. Now the statement of Faf du Plessis, his teammate in RCB in IPL, has come to light. Du Plessis captained RCB for three seasons. But he was bought by Delhi Capitals team in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Du Plessis said a big thing
On the occasion of ‘Captain’s Day’ of the third season of SA20, Faf du Plessis told PTI that it is a very personal decision. No one can tell you when his playing time as a player will (end), you will know. I know a player like him is very motivated. He has been through this before so he knows what to do.
40-year-old Faf du Plessis said that it is different for every player. Every player has to answer this question. I remember when that time was for me. I certainly knew this from a Test cricket perspective. I didn’t have the same hunger and enthusiasm as before and I felt it was definitely the right time for new players to come in and step into the world of T20. I wanted to do this while I still felt I was at the top of my game.
Kohli flopped on Australia tour
Virat Kohli had scored a century in the first Test match against Australia, but after that his form went down and in the remaining four Test matches, he was out while playing off-side balls. He scored only 190 runs in five Test matches, in which only one century came from his bat. He could not score even a single half-century. Kohli has played more than 100 test matches for India and has 9230 runs in his name in test cricket, in which he has scored 30 centuries.
