There were 640 containers in the ship
It is known that there were a total of 640 containers in this ship, out of which 13 containers had dangerous materials. The oil flows from the submerged ship at a speed of about three kilometers per hour, causing environmental crisis on the entire Kerala coast. This incident has also affected fishing and shipping activities in coastal areas. The coastal police said that some containers have come in the coastal area on Sunday itself. At least four containers have been discovered on the Kollam coast so far. Officials have urged the local people not to stay away from containers and not touch any suspicious object. To take stock of the situation, the concerned agencies have deployed additional security forces in the coastal area.
Administration and Coast Guard are cautious to deal with this disaster. ICG is coordinating pollution control and response work. Along with this, efforts are also on to prevent the spread of oil leakage. Keeping in mind the environmental influence, the state government and central agencies together are trying to face this crisis. (With language input)
