Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar narrowly escapes road accident
Karnataka Women and Child Development Welfare Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar’s car met with a major accident on Tuesday morning. The minister narrowly escaped this road accident. His brother and Karnataka Legislative Council (MLC) member Chennaraju was also present in the car at the time of the accident, who sustained injuries. Both were immediately admitted to a private hospital.
Car met with an accident in Kittur
The incident occurred around 5:30 am on Tuesday in Kittur area of the district. After attending various party programs in Bengaluru on Monday and the legislature party meeting in the evening, Minister Lakshmi Hebbalakar decided to go to Belagavi by road as there is no flight from Bengaluru to Belagavi in the late evening.

When his car reached near Kittur around 5:30 in the morning, suddenly a dog appeared in front of the car. The driver suddenly turned the steering wheel to avoid hitting him. The car lost its balance and crashed into a tree on the roadside. A major accident was averted because all the safety airbags of the vehicle were deployed. However, minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar suffered minor injuries on her face and waist, while her brother and MLC Chennaraju suffered head injuries. Both are being treated in a private hospital.
