Major accident in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka
Yalapura: A horrific road accident has occurred on Yalapura Highway in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. Here in Gulapura, a truck carrying vegetables lost control and collided with a tripper, due to which the truck was blown to pieces. 10 people have died and 15 people have been injured in this accident. This accident happened at around 4 in the morning.
What did the police tell?
The vegetable truck in which they were traveling fell into a 50-metre deep valley in the early hours of Wednesday, a police officer said. The victims, all fruit vendors, had left from Savanur and were heading towards Yalapura fair to sell fruits. Uttara Kannada Superintendent of Police M Narayana said they were traveling on the Savanur-Hubli road, when the accident occurred in a forest area.
Narayan told the media, ‘Around 4 in the morning, the truck driver went to the left while trying to give way to another vehicle and fell into a valley about 50 meters deep.’ He said that there is no security wall on the road in the valley. The officer said, ’10 people died on the spot and 15 were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to KIMS Hospital in Hubli.
Road accident in Sindhanur also, 4 dead
A case of road accident also came to light in Raichur, Karnataka. Four people died and 10 were injured when a vehicle overturned here. The incident happened in Sindhanur. After postmortem the body was handed over to the parents. The case has been registered at Sindhanur traffic police station. It is noteworthy that every day people lose their lives in road accidents.
