These rules have brought relief to those users who forget to recharge their secondary SIM again and again. Now the SIM card can be kept active for a long time without recharging.

SIM validity as per operator

Airtel Sim Validity Period

Airtel users will now be able to keep the SIM active for 90 days without recharging. After this, a grace period of 15 days will be given, in which recharging will be mandatory. If recharge is not done during this period, the number will be activated and it will be handed over to new users.

Jio Sim Validity Period

Jio SIM users will also get the facility to keep the SIM active without recharging for 90 days. However, during this period, incoming call services will depend on the previous recharge plan. If not recharged after 90 days, the SIM will be permanently disconnected.

Vi Vodafone Idea Sim Validity Period

Vi users will also get a grace period of 90 days. After this, minimum recharge of Rs 49 will be mandatory to keep the SIM active.

BSNL Sim Validity Period

BSNL offers the longest validity among all operators. The SIM will remain active for 180 days without recharging, which makes it an attractive option for users who require less recharge.

How and how much validity will be available on the balance?

If the SIM remains active for more than 90 days but there is a balance of Rs 20 to Rs 30 in the account, then this balance will be deducted and the validity will be extended for 30 days. If there is not sufficient balance, the SIM will be activated and made available to new users.
