Nehru returned to Delhi from Dehradun
On 26 May, Nehru returned to Delhi from Dehradun in the evening. His health was bad, so he went to Dehradun on a 4 -day holiday. But even after going there, he did not feel well. After this, he went to sleep early compared to daily on 26 May. His sleep was broken several times at night, he woke up from sleep several times. During this time his servant Nathuram kept giving him pain medicines. In fact, in January 1964, Nehru had a heart attack in Bhubaneswar, after which Nehru’s condition did not improve and his routine had completely deteriorated. During this time, he gave most of his work to Lal Bahadur Shastri without the department. It is said that when Nehru used to walk, there was a complaint of pain in his left leg.
Health was bad since heart attack
Therefore, due to health reasons, Nehru Dehradun took leave. After this, at 8 pm on 26 May, he reached Delhi with his daughter Indira Gandhi in the same helicopter. According to reports, Nehru was completely tired during this period. There was a complaint of pain in his feet, back and shoulder. During this time, his servant Nathuram was trying to put him to sleep by giving them medicines. Kuldeep Nay wrote in his book ‘Beyond the Lines – En Autobocracy’, Jawaharlal Nehru died on the night of 27 May 1964 in his bathroom. His doctor KL Wig gave special instructions that he should not be left alone, then he had no one when he went to the bathroom.
Nehru’s body had gone into a coma
In his book, Nayar further told that Dr. Wig told him that Jawaharlal Nehru remained lying in the same stage till about 1 hour after falling in the bathroom. This was negligence. People knew that he was ill but Nehru would die so soon, no one expected it. However, the official talk of Nehru’s death was completely different from this. On 27 May 1964, The Guardian newspaper published a news. This report said that at 6.30 am, Nehru first got a paralitic attack and then a heart attack. After this Nehru became unconscious. Soon after, Indira Gandhi called the doctors. Soon after, three doctors rushed there. He tried his best to save Nehru but Nehru’s body had gone into a coma. Because no response was found from Nehru’s body. Doctors responded after several hours of efforts.
Lok Sabha was postponed
On this day i.e. from 27 May, a special session of seven days of Lok Sabha was called. During this time Sheikh Abdula was about to answer questions on the issue of Kashmir. Meanwhile, Steel Minister Coimbatore Subrahmanium entered the Rajya Sabha at 2 pm. His face looked extinguished. He said only one thing in the House, the light is over. Soon after, the Lok Sabha was postponed and shortly thereafter, it was announced to make Gulzari Lal Nanda a caretaker Prime Minister. Foreign media reports said that Nehru stayed in a coma for 8 hours, although he could not be saved.
