Former Australian wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchrist has praised Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and said that he could have troubled even the great Sir Don Bradman. In the last few years, Bumrah has attracted the attention of the entire cricket world with his sensational performances. Last year, he played an important role in Team India winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title and recently wreaked havoc with the ball on the Australia tour. Bumrah took the maximum of 32 wickets in the 5-match Test series on Australia tour. For this brilliant performance he was awarded the Player of the Series award.

Gilchrist said on Club Prairie Fire Podcast that if Bumrah had been there in that era, he would have made even Sir Don Bradman’s cricket career difficult. He also said that if Bradman had faced Bumrah, his average of 99.94 would have been greatly affected. Gilchrist said that he is not giving any rating to Bumrah, no number is suitable for his performance in the cricket world. He would have left even Bradman behind. Bradman’s batting average would also have been very low.
Bumrah created history on Australia tour
Bumrah started the Australia tour as captain with the Player of the Match award in Perth. He took 8 wickets in the first test and played an important role in giving India a spectacular victory of 295 runs. Apart from this, he took nine wickets each in Brisbane (9/94) and Melbourne (9/156) and troubled the Australian batsmen a lot. Due to this brilliant performance, Bumrah also became the Indian bowler with the highest rating points in the ICC rankings. Bumrah (908) achieved this big milestone by defeating Ashwin. However, Bumrah got injured during the last Test match against Australia and now it is difficult for him to play in the group stage matches of the Champions Trophy.
