Income tax return deadline: Can the date of filing income tax return go ahead? If the demand of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) is accepted, taxpayers can get more time to fill ITR. GCCI wrote a letter to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), saying that this time the process of ITR filing started late as the necessary utility and forms were released about three months late. Till the beginning of August, many forms were not available, due to which taxpayers and chartered accountants got very little time for preparation.
The government had already given some relief
The government has already extended the last date of ITR filing of without auditing taxpayers from 31 July to 15 September 2025. But GCCI says that this extension was not of much use due to the release of forms late. The real problem is that people could not get a chance to prepare on time.
Slow internet and changing form become troublesome
GCCI says that due to repeated changes in utility and weak internet connections in many areas, taxpayers and professionals are facing a lot of trouble. That is why he has demanded CBDT to extend the date of deadline and tax audit report of ITR filing from 30 September.
