Swedish environmental activist Gita Thangberg has gone on a visit to Gaza. They are carrying medicines, grains, milk for children, diapers and water purifiers for the people of Gaza. It is accompanied by 11 more people who are riding on a ship named ‘Madelleen’.
Thangberg left with his team from Sisli Island in Italy on 1 June. If there is no obstruction, then the Madeline ship will reach Gaza on 7 June i.e. on Eid. The purpose of this visit is not only to provide help, but also to express peace against the sanctions imposed by Israel on Gaza.
Meanwhile, Israel has taken a tough stand on this visit to Greta Thangberg. The Israeli army said that they would take necessary steps if needed. However Gita and his companions are describing this campaign as completely peaceful and human.

Madelleen’s location is being tracked live. It was 600 km from Sicily on 4 June. On Tuesday night, a drone was seen hovering over it, 68 km from the coast of Greece, which was of the Greek Coastguard.
What is the Madeline Mission going to Gaza?
Israel has completely banned the entry of relief material in Gaza since March 2, causing 93% of the 23 lakh people facing starvation. Dozens of children have died of hunger. The purpose of the Madeline ship is to provide help to these people.
The Madeline ship Freedom is part of the Floral Coalition (FFC). It is an international organization that runs human campaigns to challenge the Israeli blockade on Gaza. The ship has departed from Katania Port in South Italy and has a life -saving material laden.
FFC has described it as a peaceful civil resistance. According to him, all the workers on the ship and members of the crew are trained in the principle of non -violence and this mission is completely peaceful.
Why Israel is stopping the ship
Initially Israel was considering to allow the ship to do a dock in Gaza, provided that it does not pose a security threat to security. But according to Israel’s official broadcaster Kan, now the government has changed its decision.
Now Israel argues that once a ship like Madeline is approved, such efforts will be promoted later.
This may weaken the sea restrictions of Israel and also increase international pressure. Therefore, the government has made it clear that Madeline will be stopped before Gaza coast.
Earlier too, a ship named FCC made another attempt in May 2025. However, Israel did not give him permission.

Israeli army threatened to arrest
According to Jerusalem Post, Israeli officials said that they would not allow Madleen to land on the coast under any circumstances. If the people sitting in the ship refuse to obey the order of the Israeli army, they will be arrested.
