Simran was a resident of village Thaska Meeranji. Father Bagicha Singh and mother Paramjit Kaur participated in the funeral process through video conference. She went to Canada two years ago to study medicine. 23-year-old Simran was living in Guildford, a town in Surrey, Canada.
On Saturday, December 14, at around 3.30 am, the attackers entered her room and attacked Simran and others with knives. In which two people were badly injured. Simran was declared dead on reaching the hospital.
Talked to family members on 14th December Former Sarpanch Dilbag Singh told that on the night of the incident itself, Simran had talked to her mother Paramjit Kaur. Next day when I tried to call Simran, I found her phone switched off. As the situation remained the same for the next 2 days, Paramjit Kaur started worrying about her daughter and when she told everything to her son living in America, he contacted his friends living in Canada and asked them to go to Simran’s address.
When his friends reached the given address, they came to know about the whole situation.
