IRCTC website-app stalled before Diwali, passengers faced difficulty in ticket booking – irctc indian railway ticket booking website app down due to lakhs of traffic big fuss during diwali time

IRCTC: If you are booking railway tickets to go home on Dhanteras-Diwali then you are going to get a shock. Just before Diwali, there was a major technical glitch in Indian Railways’ ticket booking website IRCTC today. Both the website and mobile app were not working, causing problems for lakhs of passengers in booking tickets online.

This problem came at a time when many people were trying to book tickets under Tatkal quota (Tatkal). According to reports, the site crashed when a large number of users suddenly started booking. Diwali is the time when lakhs of people book their tickets to go home. In such a situation, the closure of the Indian Railways site is creating great trouble for the passengers.

IRCTC officials said that this problem has occurred due to a technical glitch and the team of engineers is working to fix it soon. However, meanwhile, many passengers have expressed their displeasure by sharing messages like site down and error on social media. Some people said that by the time the site was operational again, the seats of the long-haul and short-haul trains were full.

This is not the first time that the IRCTC site has been down during the festive season. Every year, as soon as Tatkal booking opens, the website or app becomes slow or stops due to heavy traffic. Passengers will have to try booking through railway reservation counters, registered travel agents or through official announcements from IRCTC.
