By then the internet was being closed for just a few hours, but later completely black out. We were unable to talk anywhere. Hostels, hospitals and homes were being attacked. There was no money in ATM. They are empty. Shops are closed and the situation is deteriorating day by day.

The government sent a state transport bus from Delhi to Srinagar. After so much fatigue, it was difficult to travel 750 km again in that bus.

‘We tried to contact the officers, but no one raised the call. We booked tickets in the Emergency and came home.

Anisa is worried about stopping her course in the middle. She says, ‘Amidst all this, there is a lot of loss of our studies. Exams and classes will be online, but practical work in the hospital will not be possible for us. The university has said that as soon as the situation gets better, they will tell us when we have to return.

Tamheed -ul -Islam, who is doing MBBS from Iran, has also returned to India. His last year of medical is going on. He explains, ‘The war between Iran and Israel is increasing. Seeing this, the Government of India took us safe from there. I was in the first batch of students who reached India. The rest of the students in Iran have also been taken to safe location.

Tamheed says that we are thankful to the Government of India for bringing back the country. Indian Embassy in Iran helped us a lot. First we were taken from Tehran to Armenia. Embassy officials made all arrangements for us by talking to the Indian officials on the Armenia border. From there we reached Delhi via Doha and now have returned to our homes Kashmir.
