This time the Badminton Asia Mixed tournament is being organized in the city of Kingdao, China, in which the Indian badminton team’s journey ended with Japan’s defeat in the quarter -finals. The last time when the Indian team took part in this tournament, they defeated Japan 3–0 in it, but this time the result was completely opposite. The players of the Indian team did the performance well but could not manage to win the match against the players with better ranked than them.
Dhruv and Tanisha’s pair lost 2-1
In the quarter -finals, the first pair of Dhruv and Tanisha came from India, which faced Japan’s World No. 12 pair Hiroki Midorikawa and Natsu Cyto. The first set in this match which lasted up to three sets, where the Japan pair won 21-13, while the second set managed to name the Indian pair 17-21. However, in the third set, the Japanese pair made a good comeback and won it 21–13. This match lasted for about 61 minutes.
Wanted to face defeat in women and men’s singles also
After the mixed match, Malvika Bansod faced World Number 8 player Tomoka Miazaki in women’s singles for India. Indian shuttler gave a tough fight to the second game of World No. 31, but he could not manage to win the match and suffered a match defeat 12-21, 19-21 in 2 consecutive sets. The Indian team was lagging behind 2–0 and now everyone’s eyes were fixed on the men’s singles match where 31st ranked HS Prannoy faced Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto and he had 21-15, 15- in this match which lasted three sets. 21 and 21–12 lost defeat, due to which the Indian team could not make their place in the semi-finals.
