In this exciting match, the West Indies Masters team registered a thrilling win by 6 runs and made it to the finals. The India Masters team has already reached the finals and will now face West Indies Masters on 16 March. Batting first in this match, the West Indies Masters team scored 179 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. In response, the Sri Lankan Masters team could only manage 173 runs at the loss of 9 wickets after batting 20 overs.
Dinesh Ramdin and Chadwick Valtn played a good innings
West Indies Masters, who came out to bat first, had a very bad start. In the very first over, opener Dwayne Smith returned to the pavilion without opening an account. After that William Perkins and Landal Simmons took the team to the score of 44, when the team suffered a second blow. Simmons was dismissed for 17 runs in 12 balls, then soon after that Perkins also started playing a slow innings of 24 runs in 30 balls. After that captain Brian Lara took over the innings, he retired after scoring 41 runs in 33 balls. At the same time, Dinesh Ramdin and Chadwick Walton, in the lower order, played a fast innings and brought the team to the score of 179. Ramdin remained unbeaten after scoring 50 runs in 22 balls. He hit four fours and three sixes in his innings. At the same time, Walton scored a good innings of 31 runs in 20 balls.
Gunratne’s half -century innings went wasteful
Sri Lanka Masters got a good start to chase the target of 180 runs. Kumar Sangkar and Upul Tharanga added 31 runs for the first wicket. Sangakkara was dismissed for 17 runs in 15 balls. After his dismissal, Lahiru Thirimane came to bat and was able to score only 9 runs in 7 balls. Tharanga also continued on a score of 57. After he was dismissed, Ashley Gunaratne kept one end but he did not get anyone from the other end. In the last over, Sri Lanka Masters needed 15 runs to win, but his team could score only 8 runs there. Gunratne returned unbeaten after scoring 66 runs in 42 balls and he was the highest run -scorer for the team. Teno Best took the most 4 wickets from the West Indies team. Dwayne Smith took two wickets in his name.
