Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China and India should take advantage of the opportunity to meet each other.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who arrived on a two-day visit to China on January 26, met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi today i.e. on Monday. According to China’s official newspaper Global Times, the Chinese Foreign Minister talked about taking concrete measures to increase mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese Foreign Minister said that both should avoid mutual suspicion, estrangement and exhaustion.
At the same time, the Indian Secretary said that both the countries managed their disputed issues in a better way through continuous dialogue. Soon it will be 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and China. On this, Vikram Misri said that we are ready to work with China to jointly celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of these relations.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said that we should place more emphasis on mutual understanding and support instead of mutual suspicion and isolation.
Also met the International Department Head of the Communist Party
Earlier on Sunday, the Indian Foreign Secretary met Communist Party of China’s International Department Head Liu Jianchao in Beijing. During this, both the officers talked about implementing the Ladakh Border Agreement, strengthening mutual dialogue and many local and international issues.
Second high-profile visit from India in 6 weeks
This is the second high-profile visit from India to China in less than six weeks. Earlier, India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval had come last month to attend the 23rd special representative level meeting between India and China.
This visit of the Foreign Secretary includes ways to reduce tension on the border in Eastern Ladakh and resumption of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Apart from this, issues like resumption of direct flights between the two countries and easy issuance of visas to Chinese citizens are included. Besides this, issues of political, economic and people to people connections will also be discussed.

Last month, a meeting was held in Beijing between China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi and India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Galvan clash of 2020 increased tension in relations
On June 15, 2020, China had deployed troops in the border areas of Eastern Ladakh on the pretext of exercise. After this, incidents of infiltration took place at many places. The Indian government had also deployed equal number of troops as China in this area. The situation became so bad that bullets were fired on the LAC.
Meanwhile, on June 15, 20 Indian soldiers were martyred in a clash with the Chinese army in Galwan Valley. Later India also gave a befitting reply to this. About 60 Chinese soldiers were killed in this. After this, relations between the two countries had become quite tense.
