IND vs IRE, 3rd ODI: The Irish women’s cricket team, which is on India tour, is being beaten badly. After losing the first two matches of the ODI series and losing the series, the Irish team came to Rajkot to play the third and last match with the intention of saving its honour, but once again the Indian opening pair did a great job by taking on the Irish bowlers. Indian captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to bat first.

Smriti Mandhana opened the innings along with recently debuted Pratika Rawal. Both the batsmen started the ODI innings in T20 style and batted aggressively and scored 90 runs on the scoreboard in the first 10 overs. By the completion of 13 overs, there was a partnership of 100 runs between the two batsmen for the first wicket. In this way, the opening pair of Mandhana and Raval made a great feat of century partnership in the second consecutive ODI match. Not only this, for the fourth time a century partnership was seen between this opening pair.

In this way, this pair became the fourth pair in the world and the first pair in India to have a partnership of more than 150 runs in two consecutive ODI matches.

Smriti Mandhana smashed the Irish bowlers fiercely and scored a century in 70 balls and thus became the fastest woman player to score a century in ODI for India. Even after scoring a century, Mandhana along with Raval maintained the pace of runs and soon India’s score crossed 200. Mandhana was out after reaching her personal score of 135 runs. Along with this, the ongoing partnership between Mandhana and Pratika also broke. Both of them made a partnership of 233 runs for the first wicket which is the third highest partnership for any wicket in ODI in the history of Indian women’s cricket. This pair broke a 20 year old record.
