According to a report revealed, India has now left behind China in terms of iPhone shipping in the US. The Made in India iPhone has seen 76% export growth from year to year in the US. According to the Ompdia Market Research firm, the iPhone made in India has been highly shipped in the US market due to a 30% recipe on China by US President Donald Trump.

According to the latest CNBC report, in the month of April, about 3 million units iPhones have been exported from India. At the same time, the number of iPhone units shipped from China has been just 9 lakhs. Shod has seen a growth of 76% in the shipment of iPhone made in India. However, Apple has a long strategy behind this big shift.
During the 2020 Kovid epidemic, Apple decided to set up its manufacturing plant out of China. In view of the problems in the supply chain due to Kovid, Apple set up its manufacturing plant in India, due to which India has become the second largest hub of iPhone manufacturing after China. Apart from this, the effect of reciperochl tariff imposed by US President Donald Trump has also been seen. The iPhone made in China is being charged 30% duty in the US since April 2. At the same time, this duty is just 10% in other countries including India.
Manufacturing capacity will increase in India
Recently, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that iPhones made in India will be sold in the US market from the June quarter. According to the research firm, this growth is for small term, which will not sustain for a long time. The demand for iPhone in the US is up to 20 million in every quarter, which India will not be able to match before 2026. Apple is increasing manufacturing capacity in India, but it also has a limit.
