DBS Bank: If your savings account is in DBS Bank India, then you need to take care of the new rules of the bank from 1 August 2025. The bank has announced that if customers do not have a monthly average balance – MAB in their account, then they will now have to pay 6% charge. However, this charge will be limited to a maximum of Rs 500. The bank has told customers through SMS that the limit of MAB will remain at Rs 10,000, but for not keeping it, a fine of 6% will be taken.
Charge will be according to accounts
These charge will vary for different savings account variants of DBS Bank of Singapore-DBS. For example, in the accounts where the minimum balance is Rs 1,000, the charge will be 6% but a maximum of 50 rupees will be taken. At the same time, in the accounts where the minimum balance is Rs 5,000, this charge will be limited to a maximum of Rs 250. This charge will be up to a maximum of Rs 500 for regular DBS savings account, growth saving account, and task youth power account. The minimum balance in Lakshmi Savings Account made for special youth is only 100 rupees and a maximum of 5 rupees have been kept in it.
Withdraw money from ATM
Apart from this, withdrawing money from ATM has also become expensive since 1 May 2025. If you withdraw cash from your ATM of DBS Bank, you can withdraw money for unlimited times free. There is no fee on this. But if you withdraw money from another bank’s ATM and your free limit (3 times in metro cities and 5 times in non-metro), then there will be a charge of Rs 23 each time. At the same time, at the end of the free limit of non-financial transaction (such as the balance check), Rs 10.5 per transaction charge will be charged.
The bank says that these changes have been made as per RBI guidelines, in which banks have been allowed that they can charge a maximum of Rs 23 per transaction on ATM services outside the free limit. So if you are a DBS bank customer, it would be better to maintain an average balance of Rs 10,000 every month and take care of the free limit to withdraw money from ATM, so that additional charge can be avoided.
