IPL competition will not be canceled due to rain
The IPL is now moving towards its conclusion. Now some of the league phase matches are left, after which the playoffs will start. Meanwhile, it has been seen that many parts of India are receiving heavy rains. Due to this, IPL matches are not being done. So far this year, three matches in the IPL have been washed away due to rain, this has affected the health of the teams. However, now the BCCI has made a completely new plan for this. If it rains from this, keep coming, there will be no effect on the match, it is being tried its best. Let us tell you about it.
IPL league matches will end on May 27
The league stage of IPL 2025 will conclude on May 27, on this day the last league match will be played. This will be followed by a qualifier, eliminator and final turn. That is, in the coming days, the importance of matches will continue to increase even more. But if the rain disrupted then the teams will be harmed. In such a situation, the BCCI has found a way to avoid this. Till now, if the match stopped due to rain according to the IPL rules, then 60 minutes of extra time was kept for it, but now it has been increased to 120 minutes. That is, extra time has been increased to 60 minutes further. Already 120 minutes of additional time for the playoffs is kept, which will continue in the same way that the new announcement will be made.
BCCI implemented new rule from May 20 itself
It has been clearly stated by the BCCI that this rule will come into force from 20 May i.e. Tuesday. Till now the cutoff time of the league stage matches was 10 to 56 minutes, which is now 11 to 56 minutes. That is, if a match is canceled due to rain, then its official announcement will be made at the same time, before that the possibility of matching will be searched. It is already certain that if the entire match cannot be done due to rain, then at least 5 overs per team should be done. If this is not possible, then it is canceled.
Changes have also been made in the venue of a match
This rule of BCCI will give a lot of relief to the teams in matches to come. Although the IPL is over for many teams, but the teams which are currently running at the top, as well as the matches of Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians are very important. Therefore, in view of the weather forecast, the BCCI has taken this decision. However, in view of the possibility of rain, the BCCI has already shifted to Lucknow in Bangalore on 23 May. It remains to be seen whether the remaining matches rain or not, although the BCCI has made strong arrangements to compete.
