Indian team’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah Nomination ICC Player Of The Month For December 2024: Jasprit Bumrah is counted among the best bowlers. His yorker ball has no match in Test cricket. He has destroyed the opposing teams many times with his bowling. We have seen its example in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played against Australia. He was the bowler who took the most wickets from both the teams. He had taken a total of 32 wickets in his name. That too when he did not handle the bowling in the second innings of the fifth Test. Otherwise his wicket count could have been higher. Now ICC has nominated him for the Player of the Month Award for the month of December 2024. Along with him, Pat Cummins of Australia and Dan Patterson of South Africa have also got nomination.
Jasprit Bumrah performed brilliantly
Jasprit Bumrah took 22 wickets at an impressive average of 14.22 in three Test matches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in the month of December. He presented an excellent example of bowling in Brisbane and Melbourne. It was because of his bowling that Team India gave tough competition to Australia on many occasions. He also received the Player of the Series award for his strong performance. His performance also gave him the highest rating points by any Indian bowler in the ICC Test Player Rankings. He is at number one and has 907 rating points.
Cummins wins Border-Gavaskar Trophy for Australia
On the other hand, Pat Cummins of Australia showed a strong performance with ball and bat against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and played an important role in helping Australia win the BGT. He displayed his excellent form by taking 17 wickets at an impressive average of 17.64 in three Test matches against India in the month of December. In the Test match held in Melbourne, he also contributed with the bat by playing important innings of 49 and 41 runs and also took 6 wickets with bowling.
The South African team has secured a place in the final of the World Test Championship and a major credit for this goes to fast bowler Dan Patterson. He achieved five-wicket hauls against Sri Lanka and Pakistan. He took 13 wickets at an average of 16.92 in two Test matches in the month of December. Now only time will tell who gets the award.
