
Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash and wife Pallavi
A sensational information has been revealed in the murder of former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash. According to police investigation, Om Prakash’s wife Pallavi allegedly threw chili powder on her face before stabbing her husband. In this case, the police have arrested Pallavi and his daughter Kriti as the main suspect.
Om Prakash, a 1981 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, was found dead at his residence in Bengaluru on Sunday, 19 April 2025. His body was found to be stained with blood on the ground of his three -storey house located in HSR layout. According to police sources, after a sharp debate between Om Prakash and his wife, Pallavi first threw chili powder on his face, which led him to run around due to jealousy. Then Pallavi stabbed him with a knife, causing him to die on the spot.
Sources said that after the incident, Pallavi said a video call to her friend and said, “I have killed the demon.” Police investigation has also revealed that there were frequent quarrels between the couple and the relationship between the two was tense.
Complaint was lodged in land dispute
According to preliminary investigation, there was a dispute between Om Prakash and Pallavi over a land located in Dandeli, Karnataka, which Pallavi had also lodged a complaint with the HSR Layout police station a few months ago. However, when the police did not take his complaint seriously, Pallavi also staged a sit -in outside the police station.
In addition, the investigation also revealed that Pallavi was suffering from mental disorder and had a problem of ‘schizophrenia’ (a kind of mental illness). She was also taking her medicine. It is also believed that his mental state caused more stress in the couple’s relationship.

Om Prakash was a native of Champaran in Bihar. He was appointed Director General of Police of Karnataka on 1 March 2015. During his tenure, several reforms were made in the police department and he was known as a prominent IPS officer from Karnataka.
