Swami Ramdev has given a statement on sadhus smoking pipe in Kumbh Mela.
Nowadays the view of Prayagraj Sangam is something different. Mahakumbh, the biggest festival of Hindus, is going to start here from 13th January. Now that day is not far, when big tents, procession of Naga Sadhus, Baba lighting pipe and Saints taking a dip with fluttering locks of hair will be seen on the banks of Sangam. In any Kumbh or Mahakumbh, it is often seen that lakhs of Naga Sadhus come there and are seen lighting the pipe, but have you ever wondered why the Sadhus smoke pipe in the Mahakumbh, should they smoke pipe or not? ?
‘Smoking a pipe is not Sanatan Dharma’
In response to this question, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev said while talking to India TV, “I had started the Chillum donation campaign in the last Prayagraj Kumbh also. Then I went to the Naga Sadhus, recluses and ascetics and asked them to give us the pipe. You pick up this pipe and the foreign people take its photo and make it viral all over the world.” He further said, ”Smoking pipe is not Sanatan Dharma, I am saying this with authenticity. All our sannyasis should also say this. All the Acharyas of our Akharas, Mahamandaleshwar, they should take responsibility in their respective Akharas that my Sadhus will not smoke Chillum.

Swami Ramdev had asked for donation of ‘chilam’ from sages and saints, Nagas.
Here let us tell you that last time on the occasion of Prayagraj Kumbh, Yogaguru Baba Ramdev was spending time among Naga sadhus and saints. Not only this, he was also asking for some donation from them and this donation was for drugs. Baba Ramdev had started a de-addiction campaign in Kumbh and was requesting the saints and sages not to smoke or drink pipe etc.
While making the sadhus, saints and Nagas aware, Ramdev was also appealing to them not to smoke. He had asked the Babas for a donation of pipe etc. and accepting his request, many saints and Nagas happily handed over their pipe to him.
