Hindustan Unilever Q3 results: FMCG sector market leader Hindustan Unilever has released its third quarter FY25 results today on January 22. The company’s standalone net profit has increased by 19 percent on an annual basis in the October-December quarter. The company has earned a profit of Rs 3,001 crore during this period, which is much higher than the profit of Rs 2519 crore recorded in the same quarter last year. The reason for this spectacular jump in the company’s profit is one-time exceptional gain from the sale of Pureit business.
HUL’s standalone revenue grew 2 percent to Rs 15,195 crore in the December quarter. This growth was supported by underlying sales growth (USG) of 6 per cent in the home care segment, contributed by high-single-digit volume growth in categories such as fabric wash and household care. However, overall underlying volume growth (UVG) remained flat, reflecting negative product mix.
HUL maintained a healthy EBITDA margin of 23.5 per cent despite a 20 basis point decline compared to the same period last year. Profit before tax (PBT) increased by 16 per cent to Rs 3978 crore, which included exception gain of Rs 509 crore. However, if this special benefit is removed, profit after tax (PAT) before exceptional gain remained flat YoY at ₹2540 crore.
