Ladle Mashk Dargah
Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday allowed Hindus to worship the Shivalinga at the Ladle Mashk Dargah complex in Alind during Mahashivaratri. The decision retains the prior order of the Karnataka Waqf Tribunal, allowing religious rituals at the site. According to the instructions of the tribunal, members of the Muslim community will be allowed for the rituals related to Urs from 8 am to 12 noon. Between 2 pm and 6 pm, Hindu devotees will be allowed to worship Raghav Chaitanya Shivling located in the Dargah complex.
15 people allowed worship in the dargah
The High Court has allowed 15 people to enter the dargah to worship. This dargah associated with a 14th century Sufi saint and 15th century Hindu saint Raghav Chaitanya has been a historically shared worship place. However, in 2022, tension increased when there was a dispute over religious rights at the Dargah, causing communal disturbance.
Section 144 applied in the whole of Alind
This year, to prevent any disturbance, the district administration has imposed Section 144 of the CRPC throughout the Aland, which has been banned from the gathering of people. Security has been tightened and the police have set up 12 investigation posts and deployed drones to monitor. (With language inputs)
