
Cabinet Minister Vijay Shah and Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing on the petition filed by Cabinet Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah till May 19. Minister Kunwar Shah has challenged the Swapred order of the Madhya Pradesh High Court in which he ordered an FIR against him for the remarks made against Indian Army officer Colonel Sophia Qureshi. Qureshi informed the media about Operation Sindoor against Pakistan.
Madhya Pradesh High Court adopted strict attitude
A police case was registered against Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah after a Jabalpur High Court order in connection with controversial remarks on Colonel Sophia Qureshi. Taking self -cognizance in this case, the court has strongly condemned it. The court directed the state police chief to register an FIR against Vijay Shah. The court had said that if the FIR is not done, contempt proceedings can be initiated against the police chief if they do not do so.
Prima facie crime- High Court
A bench of Jabalpur High Court Judge Atul Sreedharan and Judge Anuradha Shukla described the comments of Minister Shah as ‘dangerous’ and ‘derogatory’ and said that these are prima facie crimes under two rigorous streams of Indian law.
