Hdfc bank credit card: If you use HDFC Bank’s credit card, then there is big news for you. New charge and reward point rules are going to be implemented on the use of cards on HDFC Credit Card users. These changes will be applicable from 1 July 2025. New rules will affect online gaming, wallet loading, utility bill, rent, fuel and education payment. Let us know how much will be charged on the transactions and how to get reward points.

1. Charged on online skill-based gaming

If you spend more than Rs 10,000 a month on platforms like Dream11, MPL, Rummy Culture, Junglee Games, the bank will charge 1%.

Maximum charge: Rs 4,999

Reward Point: There will be no reward point on gaming.

2. Charge on wallet loading

If you load money from credit cards in third party wallet like Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge or Ola Money, then you will charge 1%.

Maximum charge: 4,999 rupees monthly

3. Additional charge on utility bill

If you spend more than Rs 50,000 (consumer card) or Rs 75,000 (business card) with your credit card, then the utility bill will be charged 1%. This charge will also be limited to Rs 4,999.

There will be no charge on insurance payment.

4. Changes on rent, fuel and education transactions

The charge of 1% on rent payment will continue as before and the maximum will be Rs 4,999. Fuel transactions will charge a charge of 1% only when the expenditure goes above Rs 15,000 or Rs 30,000. 1% charge on education fees will be charged only when payment is made with third-party apps. There will be no charge on payment from school or college website or pos machine.

5. Reward Point Cap on Insurance Transaction

Reward points will now be found on insurance transactions, but will come with a limit. Earlier reward caps will be applicable on cards like Millennia, UPI, Swiggy, Paytm and Bharat. There will be no limit of reward points on insurance payment on Marriott Bonvoy card. Customers of HDFC cards plan their expenses before 1 July and use the card keeping in mind these changes. With this, you can avoid additional charge and will be able to take maximum advantage of your reward points.
