Haryana government has taken a big step for poor families. Under Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana 2, residential plots will be given to about 9,000 eligible families across the state. This plot draw is being held in 15 districts today on Tuesday. These districts include Bhiwani, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Sirsa, Rohtak, Panipat, Nuh, Narnaul and Kurukshetra.
According to officials, selected families will be given plots of 100 square yards, while eligible families from Mahagram Satnali and Malab will get plots of 50 square yards. Earlier, under the same scheme, temporary ownership certificates have been issued to 3,884 beneficiaries of 58 gram panchayats of Panchkula and 1,144 beneficiaries of Sector 23, Jagadhri of Yamunanagar. In the first phase, the government had given plots of 30 square yards in 14 cities to 15,256 families, the price of which was fixed at around Rs 1 lakh.
Beneficiaries will also be given financial assistance to construct houses. A subsidy of Rs 2.5 lakh will be given under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 in urban areas, Rs 1.38 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin in rural areas, apart from this, Rs 12,000 will be given for toilet construction under Swachh Bharat Mission and 90 days’ wages will be given under MNREGA.
So far, 69,150 rural houses have been built in Haryana, on which Rs 579 crore has been spent. At the same time, assistance of Rs 1,650 crore has been given for the construction of 77,900 urban houses. In the next phase, the government is preparing to provide affordable residential plots to 1.58 lakh applicants from 561 villages and 15,000 urban families from 16 cities.
