Gulveer Singh gives India the first gold medal in the Asian Athletics Championship

On May 27 in the Asian Athletics Championship 2025, Gulveer Singh of India performed brilliantly in the men’s 10,000 meter race and gave the country the first gold medal of the competition. National record holder 26 -year -old Gulveer achieved this success by completing the race in 28 minutes 38.63 seconds. His national record is earlier 27: 00.22 seconds, which he made this year.

This is Gulveer’s first gold medal in the Asian Championship. Behind him, Mebuki Suzuki of Japan won the bronze medal by completing the race in 28: 43.84 and Albert Kabichi Rope of Bahrain in 28: 46.82 seconds. Sawan Barwal of India also finished fourth with a time of 28: 50.53. Gulveer has now become the third Indian to win 10,000 meters of gold in the Asian Championship. Earlier, Hari Chand (1975) and G. Laxmanan (2017) achieved this feat. Apart from this, Gulveer also holds national records in the 5000 meter race and he is also going to land in this competition.

Sebastian gets bronze
