A bus fell down from the bridge on Monday in Guatemala City, the capital of Guatemala country located in Central America. According to news agency Reuters, 51 people died in the accident. This bus filled with passengers was going from the city of San Agustin Akasagustalan to the capital.
Edwin Wilgran, an officer of fire brigade, said that many vehicles had collided with each other, after which the bus fell into a drain in about 35 meters deep. After the accident, half the bus drowned in the drain, due to which the people did not get a chance to get out.
According to government officials, 36 men and 15 women have died in the accident so far. President of Guatemala Bernardo Arewalo announced a three -day national mourning in the country. Along with this, the army and disaster agency were deployed to help the people.
Arewalo said on social media- I am standing with the families of all the victims, who have awakened to hear the heart-wrenching news today. Their pain is my pain.
