The Madeline ship is named Gaza’s first and only after the only fisherman.

The picture is of the workers present on the ship.

Greta Thangberg shared this picture on Instagram on 3 June.

The ship of Greta left from the Sisli Island in Italy on the 1st.

This ship can reach Gaza on 7 June i.e. Eid.
Live location of the ship is being tracked
Greta made a statement before leaving-

If there is any remaining expectation in humanity, then we have to raise a voice for Palestine. I am here because this is my duty.
Madelleen’s location is being tracked live. It was 600 km from Sicily on 4 June. On Tuesday night, a drone was seen hovering over it, 68 km from the coast of Greece, which was of the Greek Coastguard.

What is the Madeline Mission going to Gaza?
Israel has completely banned the entry of relief material in Gaza since March 2, causing 93% of the 23 lakh people facing starvation. Dozens of children have died of hunger. The purpose of the Madeline ship is to provide help to these people.
The Madeline ship Freedom is part of the Floral Coalition (FFC). It is an international organization that runs human campaigns to challenge the Israeli blockade on Gaza. The ship has departed from Katania Port in South Italy and has a life -saving material laden.
FFC has described it as a peaceful civil resistance. According to him, all the workers on the ship and members of the crew are trained in the principle of non -violence and this mission is completely peaceful.

Why Israel is stopping the ship
Initially Israel was considering to allow the ship to do a dock in Gaza, provided that it does not pose a security threat to security. But according to Israel’s official broadcaster Kan, now the government has changed its decision.
Now Israel argues that once a ship like Madeline is approved, such efforts will be promoted later.
This may weaken the sea restrictions of Israel and also increase international pressure. Therefore, the government has made it clear that Madeline will be stopped before Gaza coast.
Earlier too, a ship named FCC made another attempt in May 2025. However, Israel did not give him permission.

Israel stopped the concenes ship into the international maritime border by attacking a drone.
Israeli army threatened to arrest
According to Jerusalem Post, Israeli officials said that they would not allow Madleen to land on the coast under any circumstances. If the people sitting in the ship refuse to obey the order of the Israeli army, they will be arrested.
The report quoted sources as saying that Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katj has ordered a tough step in the event of not accepting the order.
Israeli Army spokesperson Brigadier General EP Dephrin said-

In this case we are fully prepared. We will work according to the experience we have received in recent years.
Israel has surrounded Gaza for 17 years
Israel has blocked the Gaza Strip for 17 years. In 2007, when Hamas took complete control over Gaza, Israel imposed strict restrictions on Gaza’s maritime borders, airways and land borders, citing security reasons. Israel has created a naval circle on the maritime boundaries of Gaza. This means that no ship or boat can reach the sea of Gaza without the permission of Israel.
Israel says that this blockade is necessary for its safety. If it is relaxed, terrorist groups like Hamas can bring weapons by sea and put Israeli citizens in danger.
Many times there was an attempt to break the Israeli blockade
Since 2007, many times human rights activists and support groups have tried to break the blockade, but the Israeli Navy stopped or caught them.
In 2010, a boat named ‘Freedom Flotila’ was going towards the convoy Gaza, which had aid material and many international activists. The Israeli Navy attacked it in international water in which 10 people were killed. Israel was very criticized internationally about this.
Starring crisis on 20 lakh people in Gaza
Gaza is currently going through a serious humanitarian crisis. More than 54,600 Palestinians have been killed so far in the Israeli attacks started from October 2023. A large number of women and children are included in these.
More than 20 lakh people are facing hunger, medicines and drinking water shortage. International aid agencies have warned that if the situation does not change, the situation of starvation in Gaza may be more serious.
