There is good news for the people of Delhi. BSES Discom (BRPL and Bypl) have launched a great scheme for Delhi’s electricity customers. Under this scheme, you can exchange new energy efficient AC and BLDC fans at a discount of up to 63% by exchange of your old air-conditioner (AC) and sealing fan. BSES Rajdhani has informed that this scheme will remain in force till 10 July 2026. A document has also been issued for this scheme, which gives complete information about AC and fan rate, discount and exchange value.
What to do to take advantage of the scheme?
Consumers can register through their CA number to avail the BSES scheme. A maximum 3 AC and 3 fan can be exchanged on a CA number. People can buy 5-star inverter AC and BLDC fans with heavy discounts. The aim of this scheme is to reduce power consumption and become environment friendly. The scheme is run by two BSES distribution companies – BRPL and Bypl, which serves in South, West, East and Central Delhi. Consumers can replace three old ACs and three old wings on one of their power account number (CA number).
How much discount and what will be benefited?
Under the scheme, AC is getting a discount of up to 63% and the fan up to 89%. The BSES says that an old AC can be saved from Rs 24,500 to Rs 34,000 annually on installing a new 5-star inverter AC. BLDC fans can also be saved up to Rs 1,800 annually.
Which AC will get discount on
In this scheme, customers can find discounts on five brand windows or split inverter ACs – Blue Star, Godrej, Havells (Lloyds), LG and Voltas/O’General. While registering, the brand will have to be selected carefully. Once the registration and unique number are received, the brand will not be changed.
Under this scheme, about 40 different AC models are being provided to customers, including both window and split AC. This offer will be given on the first come, first serve basis, that is, it is valid only to limited time and stock.
Easy way to reduce electricity bill also explained
BSES has also stated that by increasing the temperature of AC only by 1 degree, electricity consumption can be reduced by about 6%. If you run AC at 24 ° C, it is a balance remedy between comfort and electricity savings.
AC and fans are responsible for power consumption of about 50% of a common house or office. In such a situation, if the consumers of Delhi remove the old and high power spending equipment and use new five star rating AC and wings, then the electricity bill will be cut, but the environment will also get relief and the pressure on the power grid will also be reduced.
