Why is gold slipping?
Founder member and former chairman of All India Gem and Jewelery Domestic Council (GJC), Ananth Padmanabhan, while talking to news agency ANI, expected gold prices to reach a record level of ₹ 1.50 lakh per ten grams in the coming months. This is because gold prices may see a tremendous rise due to purchases by central banks in the global and domestic markets and strong public demand, especially in China and Japan. He believes that if trade talks between China and America are not successful and the Russia-Ukraine war continues, then gold can reach ₹1.50 lakh in the coming months. On the other hand, Padmanabhan also expects that if there is a short term correction, the price of gold may temporarily come down to ₹ 1.15 lakh. Due to this, gold prices have softened due to profit booking.
