New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on Thursday evening after his health deteriorated. Giving information about this, sources said that the condition of 92 year old Manmohan Singh is critical. He said that Singh has been admitted to the emergency department of the hospital. Let us tell you that Manmohan Singh had turned 92 on September 26 and on this occasion he was congratulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and many other leaders. Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi has reached AIIMS, while Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge are reaching Delhi from Belagavi by a special plane.

Was born in Gah, now part of Pakistan

Congress had described Manmohan Singh as a visionary politician and said that his contribution will be written in golden letters in history. Let us tell you that Manmohan Singh was born in 1932 in Gah village of Punjab which is now a part of Pakistan. His family came to India from Pakistan at the time of partition. Manmohan Singh served as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014. He is the fourth longest serving Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Narendra Modi. Apart from this, he is the only Sikh politician to reach the post of Prime Minister in Indian politics.

Was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 1987

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1987 for his services to the nation. Apart from this, in 2010 he was awarded the ‘Order of King Abdulaziz’ by Saudi Arabia and in 2014, he was awarded the ‘Order of the Paulownia Flowers’ by Japan. Recently, the Sikh organization ‘Namdhari Sangat Seva Samiti’ had also appealed to the Government of India to honor former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with Bharat Ratna.
