Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday wrote an open letter to Army Chief Asif Munir. In this letter, Imran has criticized the army accusing the army of unconstitutional activities and political interference. Imran Khan wrote, wrote,

For the stability and safety of Pakistan, it is necessary that the gap between the army and the public should be filled. For this, the army should return under the purview of the Constitution, separate from politics and fulfill its responsibilities.
Posting the letter on X, Imran alleged that he was facing inhuman behavior in jail. Imran said that he was kept in the closet hanging for 20 days, where the lights do not come and did not provide electricity facilities.

Earlier on 3 February, Imran wrote a letter to the army. In this letter, Imran asked the army to review his policy on national security and governance.
Imran jailed for 14 years in corruption case
A Pakistan court on 16 January sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a corruption case. According to Dawn’s news, Imran was sentenced to 14 years and Bushra was sentenced to 7 years. Both were accused of loss of 50 billion Pakistani rupees to the national treasury.
Both of them sold billions of rupees of land of the Government of Pakistan for Bushra Bibi’s Al-Kadir Trust cheaply. Imran was arrested on 9 May 2023 in this case. After this, many important bases of the army were attacked all over the country.
Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had registered a case against Imran Khan (72), Bushra Bibi (50), and other 6 persons in December 2023 in the Al-Kadir Trust case. However, when this case was registered against Imran, he was already lodged in Adiala Jail in the Toshkhana case.

A temporary court was formed in the jail to sentence them.
Imran is jailed for 555 days
Imran has been lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail for 555 days in different cases. The local court of Islamabad convicted him on 5 August 2023 in the Toshkhana case.
He was then arrested from his house in Zaman Park in Islamabad and sent to jail. He was later convicted in 2 more cases. However, Imran has been acquitted in all these cases. On July 13, he was arrested in the Toshkhana Case-II case after his release in a fake marriage case.
