These days the actor is busy in the promotions of his upcoming film ‘Skyforce’. In this film, he is going to be seen in the role of an Air Force officer. Amidst its promotion, the actor talked about the second and third sequel of the cult franchise ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ and told why he was not a part of it. Akshay also shared that he chose films based on social causes over the years because he was in a state of mind that inspired him to do so.
Why were you not part of the film?
In an interview given to Pinkvilla, a fan sitting in the audience asked Akshay Kumar why he was not a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3. The person also said that due to their absence he has not seen both these films till date. To this the actor replied, ‘Son, I was fired. That is all.’ Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan were in the lead roles in the first part of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ released in 2007. It was directed by Priyadarshan and was a remake of the 1993 Malayalam language film ‘Manichitrathazhu’. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ was released in the year 2022 and it starred Kartik Aryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu in the lead roles. The third installment was released in 2024 and stars Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Trupti Dimri alongside Kartik Aryan. All three films have been superhit.

Talking about the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in ‘Sky Force’ which is scheduled to release on January 24. In this, he plays the role of an Indian Air Force officer who goes on a mission of revenge after the death of several soldiers. The high-stakes thriller, directed by Sandeep Kewali and Abhishek Kapoor, is set to showcase breathtaking aerial combat, intense action sequences and a gripping story showcasing the bravery of Indian soldiers. Newcomer Veer Pahadia is going to be seen in the lead role along with Akshay Kumar in this film. Veer will also be seen in the role of an IAF officer. Apart from this, the film also stars Sara Ali Khan, who will be seen in the role of Veer Pahadia’s wife. Nimrat Kaur also plays an important role. Once again she will play the role of Akshay Kumar’s wife.
