The Odisha government on Sunday issued a consultation to all the district collector in view of the forecast in the day’s day temperature of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). In the weather bulletin, IMD said that the day temperature in the state will increase by three to five degrees Celsius during the next 4 to 5 days. There will be scorching heat due to rising temperature during the day.

The Meteorological Department has stated in the forecast that during the next five days, the maximum temperature is expected to increase to 40 degrees Celsius and above at different places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonpur, Buddha and Bolngir districts.

Children, elderly, sick people may have problems

In view of this forecast, the Special Relief Commissioner of Odisha (SRC) office advised the district collectors to broadcast messages related to warm weather. However, heat is tolerable to the common people, but it can cause health concerns for children, elderly, sick and weak.

Precautionary precaution

District collectors have asked people to take appropriate precautionary measures while leaving the houses between 11 am and 3.30 pm. According to IMD, on Sunday, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at 38.5 degrees Celsius in Buddhist, while in Titlagarh it was 38 degrees Celsius. Other places where the daytime temperatures have been above 37 degrees Celsius include Jharsuguda, Bhawanipatna, Bolangir and Sonpur. (With language input)
